(HNMO) – On December 22, the Hanoi Tourism Association held its 6th Congress for the 2022-2027 term. The congress elected a new executive committee with a strong determination to contribute to the "takeoff" and development of the Capital's tourism sector following the Covid-19 pandemic. Attendees included Deputy Director General of the General Department of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Phạm Văn Thủy and Deputy Chairman of the People's Committee of the city Nguyễn Mạnh Quyền.

Speaking at the congress, Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Quyền assessed that during the past term, the Hanoi Tourism Association closely followed the directives of the Party Committee, the City People's Committee, and the Department of Tourism. The association mobilized and united local businesses to proactively implement various programs and action plans, actively responding to and participating in the city's promotional events and initiatives.
Comrade Nguyễn Mạnh Quyền also stated that in 2023, the tourism sector needs to be more proactive and make greater efforts to contribute to the development of the Capital. He urged the Executive Committee of the Hanoi Tourism Association for the 2022-2027 term to focus on building solidarity and cohesion among the association's branches; actively participate in contributing ideas to improve mechanisms and policies, and implement the city's directives on developing tourism in a modern, sustainable, environmentally friendly manner with a long-term vision.
Additionally, Comrade Nguyễn Mạnh Quyền requested that the Hanoi Tourism Association enhance its efforts in promoting and raising awareness about sustainable tourism development; closely collaborate with the Department of Tourism and related departments to boost promotional activities, develop new, unique, attractive, and quality tourism products; aggressively approach markets, promote, and advance tourism in key and potential international markets to recover international tourism; emphasize training, workshops, and capacity building to elevate the skills and professional expertise of the Capital's tourism workforce; and promote the application of science and technology, enhance digital transformation, contributing to the increasingly effective and sustainable development of the Capital's tourism.

At the conference, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Tourism Phạm Văn Thủy also requested that the Hanoi Tourism Association continue to play its role and unite its members in building innovative and effective new tourism products for the Capital, thereby enriching the country's overall tourism offerings.
Furthermore, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association Vũ Thế Bình and the Hanoi Tourism Association suggested that in the upcoming term, the Hanoi Tourism Association further enhance its role as the "vanguard" within the alliance of northern provinces' tourism associations, as well as create influence within the national Tourism Association.
Hanoi Tourism Association Congress Contributing to the Enrichment of the Capital's Tourism
The Hanoi Tourism Association was established according to Decision No. 3054/QĐ-UBND dated August 11, 1997, by the Hanoi City People's Committee to form the Hanoi Tourism Enterprises Club; Decision No. 3672/QĐ-UBND dated June 15, 2004, renamed the Hanoi Tourism Enterprises Club to the Hanoi Tourism Association.
During the 2017-2022 term, the association developed a total of seven branches, member clubs, and approximately 200 members. The association actively encouraged businesses to participate in fairs, exhibitions, and festivals organized by government agencies, the Hanoi City People's Committee, and localities; organized numerous fam trips to survey tourist spots within Hanoi and various provinces and cities to connect tours, routes, and develop new products.
Additionally, the Hanoi Tourism Association signed cooperation agreements for tourism development with associations from other provinces and cities; directly advised some tourism businesses in Hòa Bình, Vĩnh Phúc, Sơn La, Lai Châu, Điện Biên, etc., on building products, business development directions, and sustainable services. Annually, the association continues to collaborate with local associations to organize the "Northern Provinces Tourism Associations Development Program"...

Regarding promotional activities, the association has collaborated with various press agencies to enhance publicity efforts, contributing to the promotion of the Capital's tourism. Notably, this includes organizing the signing of a cooperation agreement with Hanoimoi Newspaper to communicate the association's activities through the newspaper's channels.
In the new term, the Vietnam Tourism Association has set numerous goals, focusing on restructuring and improving the quality of the Executive Committee, departments, branches, and clubs; intensifying communication, promotion, and marketing activities; enhancing human resource training; improving the quality of branch and club operations, such as collaborating with the Travel Branch to survey craft villages in Hanoi to develop distinctive products for the Capital...
